Pat

I would be more wary about making homemade wine these days the old folk were used to it, I had some once Rhubarb and it gave me the wind I could hardly move.

Re: I don't think I've ever tasted, or even seen, orange wine.

I think orange wine might be O.K. If one used ripe oranges, but I don't think many made it. Glad you liked the litle poem.

Thank you, I expect most of the old folks have gone now. They were always so friendly to us,

I have never heard of orange wine, but it sounds delicious.

I love your tales. I always learn about English traditions through your writings.

I'd cut away the rotten parts and make marmalade. In fact, I think that's how marmalade was invented.

Eewww to the wine.   I just threw away five lemons that had that green mold on them.  I don't use them fast enough.

I don't think I've ever tasted, or even seen, orange wine.

But I do remember orange packing boxes being just the right size for nesting hens. I like the dandelion boy, I may have met one along the way.  Nice writing!
