Re: Re: A Link Goldiec
Pat, I've suffered from this from the time I was a little girl. The worst trigger I have is chocolate. Of course I still eat it at times but very seldomly. I remember one time I was in school and they were serving chocolate cake. I ate it and I was so sick for the rest of the day and night. My grandkids love chocolate cake but I never make it because then of course I would have a piece and I would get sick. I guess for everyone it's something different. Yogurt helps me too but fiber was giving me some issues believe it or not so I only take it if it's really bad. Wheat bread is bad for me and noodles but I still eat noodles. Thanks for reminding me that I need to get some yogurt.

I must say, I liked "that" better than "this". "This" hits too close to home.

Re: A Link Goldiec
I have read that gut issues are more prevalent now than ever. This is keeping gastroenterologists very busy. I've had this issue for at least a dozen years. I thought for awhile it was caused by genetic modifications in wheat (from the late 60s) that brought about gluten intolerance. But paying close attention to this and sticking to gluten free bread and pasta doesn't seem to help much. The symptoms seem less of a problem if I eat yogurt regularly and get plenty of fiber, but it's still a mystery to me what actually triggers episodes.

A Link
Pat, a little while ago I was reading a post that Sassy had about a cat and she posted a link to your post. I thought that was so cool. I don't know how to do it but I liked it. I usually try to see what all the new blogs are when I check-in and the first one I saw was Sassy's and that took me to you! I'm so sorry you are under the weather today. Bathroom issues can be so hard. Is it caused by certain foods you eat? I hope your son's doggie feels better too. I have certain triggers too. I've suffered from IBS for as long as I can remember. I wonder if a lot of people have issues like this?

Well I hope you soon recover Pat. Circumstances do take a toll on all aspects of ones life.
I woke this morning and felt like I was destined to stay in bed all day. I then thought well you do not feel so bad when you get up so I succumbed to reason.

I feel better knowing that I am not alone, although I hope you feel better.
I have many days that are controlled by my gut. Being housebound due to uncontrolled circumstances is embarrassing and irritating. I have to say that since getting blood work and properly diagnosed over a month ago, I am doing a little better. Taking vitamins has helped immensely. IBS and food intolerances are the worst. I am continually watching what I eat, but often ignore the rules and take a Prilosec so that I can eat what I crave. Hope you can power through this and feel better here soon.
