Re: Awe... those poor kiddos. This year has been the worst in history!
Sassy, I feel so bad for all the kids that are dealing with this mess!!! This truly is the worst year in history! The whole world has been affected by this nightmare. If I was an extraterrestrial and I was checking out earth I'd be out of here so fast. I'd kick my space ship into high gear and I'd be flying faster than the speed of light.

Re:
FSI, I was thinking the same thing! We used to dream of having a day off from school and a snow day was the best of all. We would go out and play in the snow and be so happy we didn't have school. Times have sure changed!!!

Re: The kids are having to be little soldiers through all this, and I'm very
Pat B, thank you so much for your comment. You are right and the kids are adapting to their circumstances. I do think it's taking a toll on them though. As I've said before they really are missing their friends. My grandson said when they are in the lunch room they are assigned to certain seats and they are not with their friends. Now that they are going to be home again they won't see their friends at all. We never had to live like this.

Awe... those poor kiddos. This year has been the worst in history!
Our grandkids are facing many of the same challenges. Our granddaughter was sent home due to fever and a cough. It turned out to be bronchitis, but because they are not enforcing staff and students to wear masks, it could have been much worse.

Who would have ever thought kids would want to go back to school, LOL?

The kids are having to be little soldiers through all this, and I'm very
proud of the way they adapt, even though they complain - rightly - about the situation. It's not much compensation to remember that everyone all over the world is dealing with this anxiety and inconvenience. Perhaps we'll come out stronger and more resilient for having to deal with it, but right now we just feel like whining...

Re:
Sea Gypsy, thank you so much for your comment. All of my grandkids want to be back in school. I feel so sorry for all of them. I never thought I'd see anything like this in my lifetime. I can't help but think that mistakes have been made by the powers that be when it comes to COVID!

Re:
Kabu, I feel the same as you! This year is like a bad science fiction film. The only problem is that it's real and we can't turn it off!

The more normalcy, the more good news.

The grandsons went back to school Tuesday, hybrid style. Two days a week. I hope it lasts. When you hear a 16 year-old say he wishes school would start up by August and it's March, you know it's hard on the kids. So now it's October and I wonder how long it will last or if they'll put them all back online until January. One day at a time, that's all we can do here.
