We always try to put our tree up by December 11 because that's my birthday and I just love Christmas. I look forward to reading all the posts at Christmas time.

We don't put up a Christmas tree until December 15th.
We take it down before January 1. I am not a fan of all of the commercialism that goes with Christmas. I prefer the family gathering over the big meal versus the ridiculousness of spending so much money on more junk that I do not need or want.

Re: Anytime is a good time to think about decorating for Christmas
I absolutely love decorating for Christmas and I think anytime is a good time to plan for the holiday. One year my son had a girlfriend that loved using the canned snow to put on the tree. That year we used the canned snow and we had it everywhere. It didn't work out so good and after that, we didn't use it again. Then there were the years my aunt would use cotton for fake snow on the tree but then she couldn't put up lights. That wasn't the best of ideas. I have so many stories I could tell about decorating at Christmas and I love each and every one of them. It is such a fun time of year! I'm not sure what will happen this year. They are seriously asking people if they would consider celebrating Christmas in July and that's not going to work for us.

What a pretty ornament that must be. Some people like to plan Christmas in Jul. I had always thought it should not begin until after Thanksgiving. Now, I just hope for a Christmas.
