Pat_B, I just asked my grandson this afternoon when he's grown what will he remember most about being here and he said how much food Grandma was always trying to feed him. I laughed and said never let it be said that I ever let you go hungry. He laughed and agreed with me.

Kabu, when you have no power does your heat work? Did you read while the power was out? I've been cutting peppers and I'm going to freeze them but first I have to put them on trays. I'm done cutting peppers for today. I found some Cajun spice today. Have you ever used it? Tell Mr. Graysome I said Hi! I just love him and he's as close to a cat as I will ever be able to get because of my allergies.

Sassy, you are right. It does cost more money to eat healthy. We just got back from Big Lots. We went in search of my smoked paprika which they did not have but I did find some cajun seasoning for only $1. Bruce from Swamp people uses cajun seasoning all the time. I'm not sure what I will use it on but it sounds good. Any ideas?

Sassy, they seem to work well together and they can move the pieces around on a table that we set up for them. I wish you could see them. They are all sitting around this long table and you could hear a pin drop because they are all concentrating on what they are doing. I love it because they will be busy for hours. In a little while, I'm going to cut up apples and surprise them with their special treat.

Sassy, this is exactly what we do too! We bought big packages of ground beef and we won't buy it again till it goes back on sale.

We are always on the hunt for fresh fruit and vegetable that are inexpensive, but I am finding that it costs more to eat healthy.

Unless it is a special occasion, we have a set dollar amount that we spend every two weeks. It is smart. I do a lot of morphing as I know you do too. I make one big pot of something or bake a huge piece of something and transform it into other meals. I also buy hamburger in bulk and break it up into three freezer bags so that a $9.00 package of hamburger becomes only $3.00 each.
