Re: Katie Lee hails from your state of West Virginia.
Sassy, when I first started watching Katie Lee I had no idea where she was from but then I found out because she would always talk about her family back in West Virginia. It just reminds me of my family. There was one story that she told where every summer her Grandma would make her Grandfather take the stove out on the back porch so she could cook and it wouldn't heat up the house. Can you just imagine? It's a good idea though.

Re: Holy crap! That is a lot of peppers.
Sassy, I'm so sorry about Chloe! I will say prayers for her and hope she has a speedy recovery. I do love it when the kids are here. They really seem to like being here and we enjoy them so much. I think we might spoil them a little bit though. haha I'm going to work on some more peppers in a little while. We have so many this year!

Holy crap! That is a lot of peppers.
Freezing them is the best way to preserve them. You did good. You are the best gramma too. They are always visiting and sleeping over at your house. Our two grandkids wanted to sleepover this weekend, but on Friday Chloe was just diagnosed with bronchitus. She is sooo sick. I would love to see her, but I cannot afford to be sick too.

C_C_T, my main concern is all the children being safe but I hope things get back to normal before too long. I love new recipes!

Well as long as the children can keep safe. Just lets hope it is not for too long.
Thank you for the recipe.

Taps, I give your daughter-in-law so much credit because all of the changes have to be hard to keep up with every day. I wish her the best getting her Masters Degree.

Re: Goldiec
Bc_A, thank you so much for your comment. I think that everything is changing so fast that it's hard for me to keep up.

My daughter-in-law is a teacher and it is difficult for me to keep up with how she does things now. She teaches high-school and first year college classes and sometimes teaches from home on line along with taking classes in the evening to finally get her Masters Degree.

It's interesting and helpful for myself, how sports and other activities are altered to continue 'ourselves.'

Re: Kids are adaptable - this hybrid thing will work for them - maybe not as
Pat_B, thank you so much for the comment. I do hope everything goes okay at school for the kids. It's a good thing I don't have to go to school because I'd be a nervous wreck until I figured things out and would probably be going the wrong way in the halls and get in trouble at least a few times.
I'm always nervous to try new recipes. I'm glad you told me about the unsalted butter because I never buy it but I will now. I hope my sausage gravy does turn out good because Roy loves it over biscuits.

Kids are adaptable - this hybrid thing will work for them - maybe not as
well as the tried & true in-person method, but if they're motivated they'll get what they're supposed to receive. As you say, the main thing is to keep them healthy. Enjoy your new recipes. Sausage gravy is easy-peasy and yummy. I use only unsalted butter, so I think you'll like it - creamy tasting.
