FSI, I have never truly thought of this but it does make a lot of sense. We have a lot of trees on this property and we have a mulcher for the tractor to make it easier because there's no way we could rake up all these leaves. Especially back in the woods. Now I won't feel bad if we don't get all the leaves cleaned up before the first snow. In the woods, we do leave leaves around the trees for the deer to lay in on a cold winter night. I always worry about them. We have a little deer back there now and I hope it survives the winter.

Yes the only leaves really to trouble one are Walnut. They do not decompose easily.

Thanks for sharing. I learned something new.
I love bees, and we have plenty of leaves in our yard, so I will use this as my best excuse not to rake until March.
