Pat_B, thank you so much for the birthday wishes! That is so sweet of you! If you were here I would have made you a plate too! I really think you would have liked it because when I cook with fresh vegetables from the garden everything tastes better. I hope that you write more Pioneer stories soon!

I think it is nice to have a day or two free from worry. I must say you are a rather good cook. I used to do a bit in the old days, I kind of changed to ready meals
and home grown veggies. I love your apple pie, but I must admit I like it hot with cream. If one can call it cream. We used to get it thick and yellow. Those days have long gone.

Sherri, thank you for the birthday wishes and I will tell Roy! Homemade stuffed cabbages and peppers sound so good too! The garlic and herbed cheesy bread sound so good too! I know you would love my apple pie. Roy doesn't like the real sweet ones from the store so I cut back on the sugar and it is so good.

It would appear that we are having a similar dinner.
Slow cooking in the oven is homemade stuffed cabbages and peppers. I will serve it with garlic & herbed cheesy bread. Please tell Roy that we wish him a happy birthday. That pie sounds like the bomb!
