I bake my bacon in the oven on a tray above a drip pan @400 for 20 minutes.

As for skillets, I prefer non-stick skillets, but I love cast iron for frying foods like burgers and fried potatoes.

I love cast iron but we have one of those new glass tops on our stove and they said not to use cast iron on it.  I know Pioneer woman uses cast iron lots of times and I love to watch her cook.
