Re: A packed freezer will supply you with plenty of hot meals.
Sassy, Roy said there are lots of ghost peppers on our plant. I asked him what in the world am I supposed to do with them. He said put them in chili but I'm not so sure about that. Jalapeno peppers are nowhere near as hot as ghost peppers. Your yard will seem empty when you put all your fairies and gnomes away for the year. You have made them such a beautiful place to spend their summers. You and your hubby have the nicest yard! I love it!

Re: It was still warm here last night.
Sassy, I love the way candles make a house smell. They fill the air with beautiful scents. I have all different kinds but I think my favorite is still vanilla. Now that I'm thinking about this I'm going to light a candle. Thanks for the idea!

Re:
FSI, I hope Fall stays for a while before winter flies in with its arctic temperatures. It is starting to feel closer though. One thing I know for sure is that I don't want another summer with these extremely hot days. Cleveland never had a summer like this before. We broke several records.

Re: I was born in Cleveland and grew up in Berea
Shams-i-Heartsong, what a small world we live in. It's nice to know someone that is familiar with Cleveland. I used to live near Berea.

Pat_B, I went to your profile to see where you are from but I couldn't find anything. Cleveland's weather can be really bad and I remember on Valentine's Day that it just snowed, snowed, and continued to snow.

Re: That first chilly evening after a long, long, hot and humid summer is
Pat_B, that is what I thought too until last night and then it felt so cold that we started shutting the windows. I'm not sure when we will get our first snowfall but once it does start snowing we've been known to have high drifts from the wind and the blizzard of 78 still unnerves me.

Re:
Sea_Gypsy, the Gnomes already started acting up and I will write about it later. I'm shocked at their behavior!

Re:
BC-A, I really think it's because the summer has been so hot. Now that the temperatures are dropping we are trying to find long sleeve shirts and sweaters.

A packed freezer will supply you with plenty of hot meals.
We have bags of ghost, chili, jalapeno, and banana peppers. Also stuffed peppers and stuffed cabbage. Our tomatoes crop was almost null and void. As for the fairies and the gnomes, they are about to be put in their winter boxes for the year here too.

It was still warm here last night.
We lit our first candle while watching the 911 documentaries. The house now smells like donuts.

That first chilly evening after a long, long, hot and humid summer is
so refreshing. But I also think about bringing the snow shovel in from the garage because once it snows more than a couple inches, I won't be able to open the back door to go get it - and those back steps can be tricky...

Wow! Sorry it’s so cold. Too early for the gnomies to be locked away I think. They will rebel big-time! Hi
