It is a very sad memory and I don't think many who watched it happen will ever forget that day.

Re: Re: Please thank your son his service for us, Pat.

Sassy, for the life of me I can't figure out how the people that protect us become the enemy.  If we didn't have them we'd all be in trouble!

Re:

Sea_Gypsy,  thank you so much for the comment. I feel so bad about the officer.  I'm glad your sister got to come to visit.

Re: You are correct - it is a sad day when young people feel the police are

Pat_B, I also believe kids should not have access to guns!  I think some of the games the kids play online are too violent.

Yes, I feel the same about comments. I try to comment to everyone because I thought that’s how Blogit works. With my sis here I can’t do that as much. Thank you for being thoughtful, as Bligit is that way. Very Sorry about the fallen officer. It’s just so wrong.

Re: Please thank your son his service for us, Pat.

My hubby is also ex-Army and ex-Navy. As a military family, it astounds me how the military and police are treated. They are viewed as threats by criminals, but for those who want peace, we understand that they are there to serve and protect.

You are correct - it is a sad day when young people feel the police are

the enemy. This would tick off half the people I know, including one son who's an army veteran and gun-owner, but I do not believe kids should have access to guns. Once they're older and less reactive, when their brains have developed to the point they see what consequences go with their actions, it wouldn't be so dangerous. It might help if our "law & order" president offered calming suggestions instead of stirring up distrust and hate.

Re: That is horrible. I do not understand people anymore.

Sassy, I just don't understand why teens would feel it was okay to set two police cruisers on fire.  It is so wrong.

Re: I feel the same way. I had to ignore the computer this morning too.

Sassy, I'm glad I'm not alone!  I actually felt bad so I'm going to try to make it up later.

That is horrible. I do not understand people anymore.

That poor guy. His family must be suffering over such a senseless act of defiance and rage. Hopefully, they find peace eventually. We have much of the same troubles here in Pittsburgh. The police are under attack daily. Teens set two police cruisers on fire during a protest last month.
