Re:
Taps, I'm so sorry to know that you have loved ones in these areas. I have a good friend in Oregon that said it's very bad there too. The pictures I saw on the news were horrendous. The thought of the First Responders going into these dangerous places is heart-wrenching, to say the least. I hope they all make it out safe.

It is truely horrible there. I have loved ones in Sacramento, SF, LA areas and others who are having a bad time of it all.

Re: My parents live in the Sierra Nevada area and they are getting smoked out.
Sassy, Will your parents leave home if it gets any worse? I haven't heart the term Apocolypse but that's what I was thinking! This is so scary!

My parents live in the Sierra Nevada area and they are getting smoked out.
We also have family in Oregon. This is bigger than all of us. I heard the news call it an Apocolypse. It is shocking how the smoke travels, but it does. Prayers to all of these people.

Re: Re: coffee grinder question from another post....
Pat_B, this is awesome! Thanks for sharing this with me. I have never seen one of these. I wonder what year they were invented? I have a little automatic grinder for coffee beans but I almost never use it. When you think about it, this would have made life so much easier. I wonder where the pioneers would get their coffee beans when they ran out? I'm thinking maybe in the nearest town they would have a general store.

Re: Fires
FSI, I never realized how small the world is until the last few years. I too hope they can stop these fires soon for everyone's sake.

I, too, am amazed at how connected everything is. I'm hoping the fires cease.

Pat_B, I hope your family is okay. That is very scary! I know they were saying because of the heat and dry conditions it's making the fires so much worse. It really is terrifying.

I have family in Portland, Salem and other towns in Oregon. Some of them
have safely evacuated from wildfire zones, and I'm keeping an eye on the weather channel, etc. It's terrifying. I hate forest fires.
