We are lucky in that our neighbors are a marina and photography studio.
Everyone waves around here in our small and welcoming corner of the world. We live in a borough and most of our community knows me for my ghost hunting and books. The owners of the photography studio watch over our house when we travel and the boat marina uses our address when they want food delivered since we are the last house on our dead-end street.

No, I have never felt that way. Nothing beats a good wave or verbal greeting.

My neighbors are so far away we all need Binoculors to visually communicate!

Well, there are times I just wish to be left alone and not have to deal with a bunch of waving and chatting, but I try to be polite to my neighbors anyway. There is one house on the block though, where the people won't look at anyone, wave, or acknowledge anyone's presence. They strike me as being a bit - off - or something. They just don't act right - or rather, present normally - to anyone on the block.
