Pat - Great post.
Lately, I hate watching the news. Well, I've always hated watching the news. When I was little I hated the Sunday morning talking head shows that G-Uncle Y watched when there were no cartoon on. And in all these years, nothing has changed. Let's all call it a year now!

The days have been getting shorter since June 21, or thereabouts, but there is a tipping-point where it becomes so suddenly, noticeable. That is always a poignant movement for me, too.

Re: Re: Good Morning!
Sassyass - this is not my original poem. It's a classic ballad from the very long ago. It was popular when I was a kid, in the late '40s and may have been from the big band era. You could probably Google it "September Song" and get the complete lyrics and info about the composer.

I suppose we shall miss the sunshine . I notice the normal flue vaccinations are being promoted. A pity we cannot have the big one and then just carry on if we ever can as normal. Nice Blog.

As for the stress factor, it just can't get any worse.
I am highly sick of this year and yearn for December to roll into town. 2021 can't come fast enough for me even if it does mean getting older. This world is in need of some fresh and happy news. I can only pray that the new year is as good as the old year has been a deplorable state of affairs.

Re: Good Morning!
I also love your writing. This poem is right on cue.

Re: Good Morning!
Good morning to you... Sounds like you're just about ready for the fall season - I always liked October - especially when I lived in Seattle. Crisp sunny days, bright leaves accenting the evergreens, foghorns early in the morning from ships in the harbor. Thanks for the reminder.

Good Morning!
I love your writing and it really is true. The news portrays all the bad in the world and it's nice to come here to this place and read something besides doom and gloom. I absolutely love fall and everything that goes with it. We always have hot chocolate for really chilly days when the kids are here. If they are lucky we have whipped topping for the top of their cup but that is not always the case. Sometimes I have marshmallows in the pantry to toss in for a special treat. I don't understand football but I do love how excited the kids get. My grandson Cyrus is in the 7th grade and he's playing this year. He is so excited because with COVID he wasn't sure they'd let his grade play. I know they are taking precautions while the kids are on the field. The garden is almost finished but that's okay because I have so many vegetables frozen for winter. The hard work is behind us. We start preparing for the garden in February. It's a big garden and when the season is over I welcome the rest but then there are the leaves but I do love the pretty colors.
