Now that was a wild ride. I adore horses but am a lousy rider...or was.

Wow!

Oh my goodness!  What a horse ride that was.  I would have been so scared but luckily you kept your wits about you and managed to get you and the horse back safely and in one piece.  I can just imagine how your Mom felt.

That was a ride, one never forgets such incidents. Of course you could have slipped off and who knows what would have happened. Quite exciting afterwards.

Oh lordy! That poor boy could have been your future hubby.

Your mama put the fear in life into that young man and rightfully so. I am happy to hear that you made it out unscathed. Horses are beautiful, but sometimes unpredictable creatures, either that or they are the predictable ones, and we mortals are the clueless ones. I can relate. When I was about thirteen, my mother's co-worker invited us to visit her ranch in Tulelake, California. I was asked if I would like to ride Commanche, a beautiful Palimino who was noted for his gentle nature. The horse ride started out with a trot around the property with Warren, Commanche's owner directing me on how to handle the horse. From there we moved on to a gallop with instructions to ride down the massive acreage along a horse trail. Warren explained that galloping is a smoother ride. At first, all went well, and then for whatever reason, Commanche decided to take off like a rocket and ran me under a tree limb. I almost got knocked off but I continued to hold on tight. Commanche headed back to his owner without incident. My horse riding days ended there on that very day.
