Thank you for this sweet post. I'm sure your mom meant the best for you and your siblings. Isn't it interesting how our mother's words stay with us. So often I hear my mom's voice in my memory. And I'm thankful, though no contradictory messages. She was very direct in her manner of speech.

Well of course your Mother was managing a family and it could not have been easy.
I think we all remember little incidents which may have seemed harsh. Of course trying to look back it was probably always the same. Women had to be something else
most of the time.

How fitting. I was just thinking about my own mama.
I love your poetic words of wisdom. I just posted "flashback Friday" photos of my mother and me earlier today on Facebook. They say mama knows best, and I have heard that we eventually become our mother. I believe this to be true. Ten years ago I would have argued that point.
