Re: shamasehar

I agree time changes all. I think the Dahlias will recover well most of them. I hope to get photos soon.

Not a lot of flavor to marrow jam . But then I have had tea wine. dandelion. wine etc.,

Also we used to have jars filled with sugar water ,some kind of yeast worked up and down. The result well we drank it..

Re: Ciel

A bit different time wise Ciel . Some dahlias knocked down but most are a bit sheltered. We have had rough winds for a day or so.

Re: Sea_Gypsy

Thank you SG. It does seem rather old fashioned now , but that's how it was. Yes I must find a new way of showing the Dahlias.

Re: Goldiec

Thank you, I do try to post an oldie poem as it is difficult to write new stuff each day.

I hope you enjoy your visit, and its great that you have had books published.

Writing style

I love your writing and look forward to reading your poetry.  I write poetry too but not often.

There's a lot of symbolism behind the omlettes...

I could almost walk the street with you and see the shop windows...

Love this glimpse of the terrible "then." Sorry you ever had to see it. But the dahlias: now that freshens everything. Nice work!

What a clear picture your poem has painted for us of abother time. It’s such a treasure to hear about the way things were. And I look forward to seeing the dalias.

Hope not much harm done to the Dahlias and we get to see the photos soon.Life is so different during war and the poem creates those times so vividly.

I hope the dahlias did better than expected.

The war-time poem is so evocative of a kind of necessity tedium.

I have never heard of marrow jam. Interesting.

Window shopping during the winter months used to be a favorite passtime of mine.
