Re: That is because you are so young, FSI.
My kids do not remember them either.

Re: We must not have had one then, Corbin.
My mom was a manager at Sears most of my childhood, and I used to walk to her job after school in downtown Klamath Falls. I do not remember an S&H Green Stamp store.

Most of the redemption stores were next to Sear's store.

Those were before my time. I was unaware of them.

No never had them in Australia but what a shame that someone does wrong and people lose a chance to make a saving.

OMG yes! And then you had to find the store to cash them in for something there.

My mom saved trading stamps from National (defunct in USA) and Famous Barr (merged with Macys).

Re: Kroger's was once a popular store here in Pennsylvania.
I have never seen a Winn-Dixie. Even though I am from the east coast, I grew up on the west coast, and the stores that I remember are Safeway and Albertsons.

The orange ones were at Krogers and the green ones were at Winn-Dixie!
I was the one that had to put them in the books...sticky, messy job!
Gas stations also had stamps, too. There were S&H.
Beginnings. Sperry & Hutchinson began offering stamps to U.S. retailers in 1896. The retail organizations that distributed the stamps were primarily supermarkets, gasoline filling stations, and stores. They bought the stamps from S&H and gave them as bonuses to shoppers based on the dollar amount of a purchase.
