Yes I began to wonder if it was cooler without the fan. The only good thing is one can do washing and hang it up in the house it soon dries.

I was in England one year in the 19190's during a heat wave and it was just aweful. The shops in london were trying to stay cool with big fans going...didn't work but if I was you I would invest in a new room fan for they can help.
