The the train tracks are far from here, at night in the still of darkness, I hear their whistles/horns and I think of days gone by. It's a nice thought. Thank you.

I love trains When I came here the train was still running and it was just far away to be a pleasant sound and the whistle would blow to warn deer to get off and away.

I love those old trains. Passengers often wave at us as they go by...
Our house is situated right next to the Monongahela River on one side and the tracks in Elizabeth Boro on the other side. Once upon a time, there was a train depot that brought passengers through our small community. People always ask us how we sleep through the train whistles that alert oncoming vehicles at the various cross streets. After all of these years, we don't even notice. They are carrying coal to the local steel mill where my hubby makes a living.
