Can you imagine today asking someone for their phone number? Many have to look on their phone to give it out.
Awesome job volunteering for the USO and hostessing.

a lovely post filled with memories... Sydney filled with navy guys and army guys on R&R leave during the Vietnam war and Phone boxes on the streets.

Scrappy and Joe were a couple of good old boys.
What a fun job you had. Navy guys are a unique breed. My hubby served in the Navy which led us to much travel and many friends along the way. Hopefully Scrappy eventually got his heart tattoo permantly inked.

I love this story.
It is filled with so many mentions of things that were once a part of our life that no longer exists. I miss pay phones. Not everyone carries a Smartphone.
