I live near Assateague. The horses are a major attraction. Shame on that woman for doing that. She had the kick coming.

Re: I wouldn't have known either.
My first thought is always to grab my camera, that is if I could collect myself enough to grab it and shoot. I am not sure if the moose would have posed for me though.

I was hiking in the Teton Mountains of Wyoming when the trail rounded a huge boulder and I came head to head with a huge moose with a very large rack. It scared us both. I was very glad the moose leaped off of the path and down the mountain cause I surely did not know what to do.

Re: Oh my. That baby could have been eaten in a bite.
Had that bear have felt so inclined to do so, it could have attacked the baby or the bunch of them and they really could not have done a thing about it. They weigh like 1,000 pounds.

People are incredibly stupid around wild animals - I once saw a man
in a tourist area in the Great Smoky Mountains sit his 9 or 10-month old baby on the neck of a black bear so his wife could snap a picture of it. Fortunately for them and the horrified witnesses (us) watching from our car, a park ranger was there and chased the bear away. The idiot daddy put his baby in danger and also the life of that bear if it had reacted.
