Poor guy. That is so sad.
Love and nurturing are so important to a child, especially one who has been tossed around. It was sweet of you to treat him as your own child and care for him.

So many lose sight of the right path when they don't feel the love. How sad!

It makes one wonder what happened to Durell. It sounds like a rough existence he had.

TAPS - Oh, it has me almost crying! Your poor grandma...
The poor guy. No wonder he was hostile. He left and, and - and then what happened? Was it a sad ending? Did anyone ever find him?
Yes, those mountain ways die hard. Or, they don't die at all, even in the flatlands of Oklahoma. I'm waiting on the next installment! And wondering.
