My driving record in Australia is a bit sad but i have a perfect record here in Canada. Those photos are terrible, the one on my Australian passpoert would send little children screaming to their Mother's arms. so glad that you got your licence.

Re: The same here. We only have a Trac Phone for emergencies.
I am fairly old school where technology is concerned.

Congratulations! Those photos are always the worst.
They look like a prison photo. It is great that you are still driving, but of course, great-grammas are young these days. My mom was a great-gramma at 61 and she definitely still drives at almost 72 since she also still works. Like you, I also have a landline and I do not believe in texting while driving.

It's not you...it's the new type of "filmless cameras" they are now using.

Most of the time I've been pulled over have been due to speeding. Sometimes, I have lucked out. Others, not so much.
I was once pulled over because my tag was three months expired. Oops.
Another time on a turn I went a tad into a cop's lane.

I haven't liked my drivers' license photo since the one when I was 45.
Problem is, they look just like me. I don't have a cell phone either. I figure they'll have to robo call me when I'm at home, and if I ever decide to hold up a liquor store the cops can't find me by reading pings from my cell phone.
Peace. Be safe.

Congratulations...the license or for that matter any photo on documents are bad... wondering why these photographers don't want you to look good...I for one am not photogenic...

Re: Sea_Gypsy
Thank you for the phone site. I saw a lot of good stuff for elders. I definitely will look into it. As for health stuff, Doc is still not satisfied with my progress and he wants me to come back for more lab tests Mon or Tues.

TAPS - Congratulations!
That’s wonderful you have a new license! I’m sorry about the picture. Mine is horrid also. But the main thing is that you have your license. Are your thyroid and iron counts within range? As for cell phones, have you checked out the Jutterbug? They are no frills and Senior-friendly. Here’s one link. https://www.aplaceformom.com/caregiver-resources/articles/cell-phones/

Re: venemousgeorge
I got one once and had it all set up and ready to go and the more I tried to use it the more nervous I got. It was an Apple Iphone and I could not get the hang of it so I gave it away. LOL. I was glad to get rid of it. I also got a new laptop which I have never used. I just keep sitting here at my old desktop and driving around without any phone at all. I guess I will have to depend on the kindness of strangers if I ever need a phone for any kind of car trouble.

I pull over if it is a call I have to take. Most usually go to voicemail.
