Re: Aba Brother
Thank you so much big sis. My efforts come to fruition only when Westerners like you try to understand with an open mind. It is often a difficult task when I combine a whole idea or philosophy to shorten and make them comprehensible instead of translating which I used todo earlier. And yes, there is a whale of a difference between responding and reacting. As you must have observed all of Krishna's tacklings are studied responses.

Aba Brother
Most excellent teachings for us, dear Aba Brother. You have conveyed to us what appears to be a simple formula but it is anything but that. Almost a conundrum. A bit of it does remind me of the ways of thinking my father tried to teach us; methods to think things through before acting and not reacting. Much more difficult than presented and an ongong challenge in some ways. Very enjoyable to read and much gratitude to you for taking the time to share with we who are Westerners. Very enlightening.

Arjuna too, asked the very same question: Arjuna said: O Krishna, You have said that the yoga of meditation is characterized by the equanimity of mind, but due to restlessness of mind I do not perceive the steady state of mind.

Because the mind, indeed, is very unsteady, turbulent, powerful, and obstinate, O Krishna. I think restraining the mind is as difficult as restraining the wind. (6.33-34)

स्तिथप्रज्ञा.... Equipoise.... Swami Sarvapriyanand ji was talking about it too in the video I shared. Motivational indeed but a steep task to put it all into action.Every day or every minute you have to practice to train the mind or the intellect......one can only take a small step in this direction and keep trying to attain some progress.
