ALRITE - glad to have you back! I have an antique table for my mom and Bird and all their favorite things, including the chalice that Wiley made and sent to him (Bird LOVED it and kept it on his little table until the end) in my living room. It's a source of comfort, and I feel exacctly as  you do with Mark's flag and his memories.

My one SIL is part Czech. Yes, "stuff" gets difficult at times. Your approach is always commendable and right now, I'm struggling with a printer that won't scan, among other "stuff." Take care, and I always enjoy your posts.

Re: Dupah & Prdel

Pretty much the same thing except dupah has a Polish origin, and prdel (I spelled it wrong the first time) more of the Prague area origin.  I'm half Czech and half a little bit of everything.

I thought "Dupah" (probably misspelled it) was the Czech word for rear end. I'm half Czech and half Sicilian. made for interesting family reunions.

Re: Yay! Glad it all worked out for you.

Bohemia is always what my Czech Grandparents called it.   It was changed to Czechoslovakia some time after they integrated.   More recently Czechoslovakia was divided.  One of my Aunts married a Slovac.  He was a winner.  We loved him so.  He would play his harmonica and the two of them would polka whiled he played.   We always laughed because he would tell us about the little "willage" where he was born and raised.

Yay! Glad it all worked out for you.

Both of our son-in-laws are Czech, and several I have ancestry links to Bohemia from the 1600s that I discovered through ancestry.com.
