Yes  I expect you could pick some Kabu. Hopefully they grow almost everywhere, although that is only a guess.

Pat when one sees little children in low buggies being subject to car fumes it make one glad that at least most are lead free.

I actually  grow  cultivated blackberries thorn-less, but the do lack that uniqueness.

YEs indeed FS. It is more desirable when unattainable.

Yes, a delightfully fun poem. And berries are such a nice treat this time of the year. Yes, kids will eat them.

What a fun poem.
The Perkins Restaurant here has always had a wildberry pie here that is so good--not too sweet, not to sour, and with four kinds of berries in it.  I haven't had it since restaurants were closed down for Covid-19.   Maybe someday.....

My landlord hasn't mowed here all spring, either. Mostly that means some tall straggly bits hovering over the dirt. Where the grass actually tries to cover the ground, though, it's getting kinda deep. Personally, I like the meadow look.

I like the way your poem flows.

I hadn't thought of the exhaust fumes contaminating the fruit alongside

a road - but then most of the blackberries I ever picked were wild and grew over stumps and things in areas where logging had been done - valleys & pastures and foothills. I did have one in the city that grew along an alley - probably ate a lot of that exhaust and city grime, although I did wash them under running water.  I like the last line of your poem about the sleeping bag made for one.  sad.

Mystery and solitude are the perfect plot for the ghost life.

Too much can be learned from a name. Might as well keep it in the category of unknown. However, I would love to pick from your blackberry bush. A pie would make a lovely dessert.
