Oh FSI I cannot count how many times I have not been able to say what I need to say in a given situation;only to go home and think of the perfect reply. Somewhat different to your situation here though because It was not really being shy, just not able to express myself.

We can all be wise after the events. Some folk are by nature more sensitive than others. Perhaps it saved your forebears from the Sabre toothed tiger.

Completely understandable.
Our middle daughter and my husband are extremely shy. Asking for help turn's them inside out. Luckily, you got through this by the grace of God.
