Re:sassyass 64
The sad fact is that there are not many places where one can stay the distance, around here. Car use only for shopping.

Re: Anniicita
Well Annicita I don't think many woods are easy to access here . I am sure if they are they will be notices prohibiting taking the wild flowers.

Grandma was wise, Of course one hardly sees anyone with picked wild flowers. It may be illegal, I not sure. Yes there is sadness in some aspects of life.

Re: Pat
Those were the days Pat, we as children would walk miles to the woods.
I don't somehow think the children of today will be able to do so. I have tried to grow wild strawberries but of course they need to be in the right place.

You sure do know how to write about love. There is magic to what you write.

Nothing like a walk in the woods and to come across a cluster of
bluebells or violets or other blooms. When I used to walk through a chapel of trees and sat at the base of one to contemplate life and everything, it would have felt like sacrilege to pick them. Blackberries and wild strawberries, on the other hand, need not go to waste while I am nearby.

I can remember being warned about picking wild flowers out by the bulb. My grandma would remind us often that it would destroy our patches, especially trilliums, which apparently are very slow to grow. There are tears of loss in your poem.

That's a shame they are pulling them up by the roots.

Fascinating story.
Like your sister, I am a walker of cemeteries.
