I saw a Doonesbury comic strip about the person who claims they made it all on their own. You are right. We never make it alone. Those who forget to give thanks make others not want to help them again.

This piece is filled with wisdom.
Pride is a powerful feeling that often lead's us towards the wrong path. Dignity follows pride in many cases. It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes two people to have a argument. Many people consider it a character flaw to let go of independence when it comes to asking for help, because there is that hidden shame factor.
