A well-written and thought-provoking post. The whole Nature seems to be saying that the planet is One and oneness is its essence. We cannot live in isolation as an island. To me it seems that the meaning of the Upanishads of the world being Vasudhaivam Kutumbakam (the universe is one home), it’s import is being realized now.

Yes, we do need to bide our time and find ways to entertain ourselves as well as exercise our minds and bodies.

I expect that I am jaded and perhaps a but grumpy with this cough but I believe that the young and those who can afford it will forget all about this very quickly. been there, did that, now what's next.

Too many people do not have a long-term goal. The goal of too many is just to live for a good time for the present.

Re: Ciel
That's true - if the need to restore the economy doesn't get sidetracked by it. No doubt we could all drive a few miles less, consolidate errands, not burn so much gasoline. Maybe more of us could get solar panels and take some of the load off the coal-burning power plants. Eat more natural foods, maybe grow some in back yards & flower boxes. What else?

And we have here an opportunity to create a new, healthier, more sustainable 'normal' that what we've lived for decades.
