I didn't mean Carlisle...I meant Lancaster. Carlisle is a military town.

We used to do 4 trips a year to Carlisle, PA...Amish Country....We had a Farmer and family that held a lunch for each busload in their basement (natural air conditioning) The kids were always barefooted and served the marvelous bowls of food!

Re: It is one of our biggest Amish communities...
We just recently visited that area. It is a huge farming community with many beautiful sights.

Pennsylvania does have a lot of tricky names. What fascinates me is Lancaster. The residents there really emphasize the LAN while others do not.

Re: Thank you. It is much appreciated.
We visited two places in Illinois, but this isn't one of them. People send me haunted locations all of the time to check out.

I know this comment is off the mark for how to say certain names.
But the reason I hoped to catch you "at home" here on your blog - is that Alton, IL is famous for haunted places, including a former Civil War prison. There's also nearby a legendary mysterious creature called the Piasa Bird that might be of interest to you.
