Re: I hope you'll fill in the names and titles, and get as close as possible

I have to agree. This would be an a mazing gift to future generations in your family.

There are so many details here, I don't know where to begin. I enjoy reading stories from another time. I am not a smoker, but I cannot imagine a bowl of cigarettes as an offering to guests today with their high price tag. How sad that your mother's sister was found drowned.

Pat

I am not doing a memoir. Pat. I am just posting a few memories. Years ago I used to write to a relative in USA. This is one side of my Fathers family.

Re: Sea Gypsy

The Duke of Marlborough. Of course there are more tales , things I would never have learned. They were told to me by an old man who I used to deliver eggs to. I try to keep to the straight and narrow.

A great read! Thank you so much. Which Duke was that? All the family stories that remain hidden are so interesting.

I enjoy reading your "history"....

What interesting stuff you write.  I love it.  I have always loved my own history, as much as I know about it.  Keep writing.  It is wonderful to read and to think about.

I hope you'll fill in the names and titles, and get as close as possible

to the date/year of these events when you get around to doing the memoir. This is more interesting reading than a formal history book about famous events.
