I've been away from writing a few days, but I always check in to see yours, and this is why.

Re: Sea Gypsy

Yes . Of course folk talked more in those days, maybe it built a closer feeling.

At times that does seem lacking today.

Re:sassyass 64

Sadly her children were slightly in awe of her. She was good natured to a fault, but very domineering.

Re:Pat

Ye Pat I think imagination has been grounded somewhat. One used to love some of the series on the radio.

My Granddaughter and i hooked little fingers together and made a pact. We both knew the fairies and we made the pact tp keep our secret forever. Fairies and Gnomes live here in abundance.

It's impressive what our elders did for us...Gram sounds like quite a character.

It was so often - in those days - much more imaginative and fun

without the limits put upon us by TV. There was one comic - so sorry I don't remember his name now - who used to say he preferred radio because it allowed one to use his imagination as a scripted drama played out. He said TV would expand the imagination only to the size of a TV screen - 21 inches. Thank you for reminding us about the little people and the crocus...

In my mind I see an English setting due to your imagery. The woman depicted in the story was a real spitfire, but I bet that she was as on point as the tip of a stick pin.

Such a delightful story and fun to read about your Gran/Great Aunt. I could just see it all. And thank you, for it reminded me of my mom telling us about the elves.
