My grandsons said some kids but “stuff” like vodka in their water bottles. Not my grandsons’ water bottles - other kids have bad behaviors. Otherwise, I think it’s a good idea.

Yes it it would be fine if just used for the original purpose . Somehow I think mischief 
might creep in.

High school students do tend to act up when bored, and a water bottle could turn into a soak zone under the right conditions. This made me think of Fast Times At Ridgemont High when Jeff Spicoli ordered a pizza and had it delivered to class. Lol
