At least it didn’t almost catch fire like mine did! I never liked the idea of cooking chicken in one though it comes out nicely. Didn't know about the beans though. Thank you.

Who would have thought. i have used crock pot cooking for so many years. it was great right back into the -70's when the boys were kids and I worked a full day before coming homme to cook the evening meal. Their dad always had a meeting to go to by about 7.00pm so the crockpot was my best friend.

I suppose if one has a good formula it is wise to stick to it. It all seems to pass through so many handlers these days. I don't blame you for throwing out anything that proves to be an irritant.

Re: TAPS
I believe the cooked chickens are safe to eat if you buy them the same day they are rotisseried - or freeze the leftovers if it's going to be more than a day or so before you eat them. I often cook & eat things that have been in the fridge a day beyond the sell by date.

Hmmmm. Good things to know. I've done a lot of chicken all wrong then, but in recent times I've purchased cooked rotisseree chickens. I won't though after reading this, "Well, it turns out there’s a secret behind your preroasted poultry. According to an article published by the California educational television channel KCET, the golden, juicy rotisserie chickens in grocery stores are often the unsold raw chickens that are about to expire. By selling them at a lower price, grocery stores make less money than they would on raw birds, but way more money than they would if they tossed the chickens out.
