Weather is on the brain for the writing, I see. It's been a while since we in Maryland have been snowed in.

This is such a great group! I really enjoy hearing about everyone's stories. Let me know if you ever all publish an anthology of your best pieces!

I was living in Illinois in 1980 when Mt. St. Helens blew. The town where I lived during my high school years (Salkum) was about 50 miles away - the next time I went back it was disconcerting to see how the skyline had changed.

52" of snow is a true winter snow storm. Washington bring's back two memories for me. My mom and I took a trip to Seattle from Klamath falls, Oregon. We dined in the Space Needle. I was totally enamored by the fact that it revolved. The other memory is from 1980 when Mt. St. Helens erupted. The air quality for awhile was one of the worst in U.S. history as was the eruption.
