- Go to Goodbye To Alaska
Re: Kabu
He loves being out of Alaska. He had a really long drive down through Canada and then across the USA. He said, "Well, I realize now why they call the midwest fly over states.
Montana was super scenic, every church in Wyoming and Nebraska must have broadcasting equipment because I couldn't pick up normal radio to save my life.
Its grain silo safety awareness week in Illinois so that says it all...
Next stop Virginia." Now he is in Ft. Lee Virginia for more schooling before he ends up at Ft. Riley, KS.

Glad he's in the lower 48 now, or will be soon. He will be very busy and I hope he stays safe! I thank him for his service.

I've always thought I'd like to see Alaska - but never thought
I'd want to live there through the long nights and very dark winter months. I hope he's happier in Kansas.

Re: Corbin_Dallas
Actually, Florida has always been home to him. That's where his mom & dad and sisters & brothers live. But it will be great to be close to grandma and two uncles. Plus Kansas is a whole lot closer to Florida than Alaska has been.

I guess you're really glad he's home...or close to home.

I bet that you are so proud of him. As an ex-military family, I can completely understand the transfer. Some are good, others are better. Alaska would not be my choice of places to be stationed, but the military doesn't always give us paradise.

Someone to be proud of. I think it sounds like a brill move. Also a good explanation of his future commitment.
