It made me shiver, but I remember we had one oil stove and I was up at six. Dad made me a cup of tea and I stood with my vest pulled open over the stove. It was in those days a touvh of Heaven.

A beautifully descriptive post. It must have been very hard tobe cooped up with small children in the winter. I remember how fidget the girls would be even if they were ill for a few days, but an entire winter! Oh, my..
