Re: Corbin
The one I bought was a electric powered (by cord} Uses my electric, but his old one ran on petrol and had become so noisy. Yes we have Amazon. He sells the wood in open nets and then the folk bring the net back. I did notice the price for wood now works out, this is dried kiln wood, at well over 50p a chunk. I suppose Archie give much better value. I don't like him stacking the pallets in summer because of a fire hazard. He has worked for me on and off for since he was thirteen. He thinks he is indispensable.

Re: Kabu
Well dear it was not quite how it happened the old chap suspended the cage ,but not high enough, one little gray rascal managed to leap onto the cage and yes by a little miracle performed, well left smiling as you might guess.

Re: sassyass 64
Yes well I live here, he does not. I did buy him an electric saw as he was using one that was twenty years old and did make a racket. A poor job having to mow the lawn that early,I can sympathize.

Embers delivered a small mouse corpse the other day. Maybe it's time to refresh the peanut butter on the traps.

How thoughtful that he thinks of the neighbors. We used to live next door to a guy who would fire up the lawn mower at 7:00 am every weekend. I mean, seriously?

I use a 16/inch (0.4064 Meter) battery-powered chain saw. It's a lot quieter, I have 2 batteries so I can charge the first while using the second. $69 delivered from Amazon. Is there Amazon in Britain? (52.9161 British Pounds).

Thank you for this lovely story and the "Hitchcock" ending.
Yes, I know I'm giving my age away by referring to Alfred Hitchcock... can't resist those twisted endings.
