Oh yes, the answer is definitely "yes"-- a walker, a grabber, a footed cane, anything.  I might stand close by just in case, but it is good to encourage doing for oneself.  I must say I was very thankful for a walker a year or so ago when I fell and broke a couple of ribs.  For a long time now it has been in storage just waiting for another time to come when it will be needed.

Most definitely. I tried to help a disabled person reach for an item in a store and she waved me away; didn’t want me to help her.

Big question today dear Bill. I believe we should always try to respect other people and their wishes. Sometimes their wishes aren't always in their best interest but we all need the chance to take risks. It;s one of thse ethical grey situationsfor me.
