Re: Pat

Yes Pat I have lain down on our main street in wartime. Utterly desolate.
At Lunch time masses of bicycles swarmed home for dinner.I think they worked until 18hundred hours.

Re: Ciel

It is chancy job if a dog runs loose and a worry for owners . I don't think one pays a license these days.

You tend to see more free range dogs in the country settings as opposed to city or suburban settings...That's an adorable poem you have written.

Mine run out loose, but there is an area fenced in especially for them. Pondering the question now - why did she always walk Ollie alone?

The world is too full of cars and roads, too busy, too careless...

Dogs were mostly off leash when my kids were riding bikes

through the neighborhood - some liked to chase bikes, which may be why the laws were changed and now they all have to be on leash. I liked letting them live free of the leash, but I had our dog trained to obey voice commands and hand signals. First I had to teach the kids the secret - since they spent much time outdoors with Tuffy.

Didn't need dog walkers in those days.
