A $500 Million Wall
I was thinking that the project had undertones of, "anything to undermine the president and his wall," but the the Republicans were on board too. I just read a piece claiming that this wall started out as a $20 million project in 2008. It began as a set of surveillance towers along a 30-mile stretch of the border with Syria, has since expanded into a program costing half a billion dollars.It was initially called the "Jordan Border Security Program," with the idea being a long and high enough wall meant to stop weapons of mass destruction from getting out, but since 2013 it has refocused on detecting Islamic State fighters and arms smuggling, as well as refugees, on both sides of the border…
