Go to Life in the fast lane--where's the on ramp?Add a commentGo to THURSDAY WRITERS TOPICS

It occured to me the other day that kids accuse elders of 'ageism' when we bring up their lack of perspective and judgement--things won with life-experience. But then they see elders being romantic, committing public acts of affection, or 'remembering when...' and the kids go, "Ewwwww...!"

I am with you. My life story of love, husbands, loss, adventures when travelling the World etc... to me it is the life I lived but obviously it embarrasses my sons and the grandchildren cannot imagine nan can have feelings beyond the love she gives them.

It is fascinating to hear about how our elders were back in the day. Themes tend to endure throughout life. It also seems like we'll be young forever and never age.
