Re: adnohr

The Watkins man always stopped at our house when I was little because my Mom was a sucker for all of his products.

Sounds like the stuff the Raleigh man and Watkins man would drive around and sell from the trunks of their cars. My grandma used their salves on any of the animals or humans needing it and, as far as I remember, it worked!

Our weather has been nice lately. The heat finally died down.

I have not heard a cricket for ages,I wonder if they still exist where concrete pre-dominates. Quite a rural scene in parts so close to you. I suppose you have space builders build on previous gardens here. A man called on my brother, would he sell his bungalow and garden. The developer wanted to build flats not so good if one has one's view taken.

Mud and crickets are problems. I like their chirping- outside. You save them indoors. They hop. Yep.

I've heard that the chirp of a cricket tells the temperature of the air,

but I've never heard how much time is allowed for how many chirps. I think of crickets in summer, and cicadas, too, as background music.

That salve sound interesting. I'm going to check into it when I can. Hope the rain stopped, and I can tell you, crickets and I don't get along. Period. Glad the finger is doing better.
