Anib there is too much waste here, a lady was telling me her neighbor refused an offer of a carpet saying Social Services had replaced all the flooring.

A delightful poem. But we don’t have such facilities in India

Re:Pat

Well fashions seem to change so it is a job to keep up with the trend. As an old lady told me when they were young and got wet through they had to wait until the same clothes dried because they had  no other. Of course during WW2 clothes were rationed we all had cards so one bought what was allowed. Not only that as you know rain just soaked in,it was not easy to keep dry. Good luck.

UGH! That first poem reminds me of my closets that I am attempting to empty....

I never was what they call a clothes horse - someone who has to have

the latest fad and fashion - and only the latest.  I've still got a couple dressy tops and a cardigan that I used to wear to work - in 1993.  Don't wear them often, but they still look presentable. Seems a waste to get rid of clothes that fit and serve the purpose - so plain they were never in, so they can't go out of style... Or maybe they don't look all that good and it's just that I have no fashion sense. My go-to outfit is the same as that of many stand-up comics - tee shirt, jeans and tennis shoes. Maybe not feminine and flirty - but comfortable.

Re: Corbin

Perhaps I suffer a throwback from the time clothes were rationed.

Each time you open a closet you find things that are hardly worn or used....we don't have yard or clearance sales in India so you find other ways to give away what you don't need. Nice poem.

I've wondered, too, if there is a market for some things I'd like to get rid of...We do have a way of overcoming those tough times.

I cull out the closets and need to do it again. Some things one feels like keeping. A lovely and enticing poem.
