Sounds very creative! My g-uncle installed a pull-chain light in our closet when I was little! It was a huge treat to have a light in the closet. I never learned to crochet, as being a lefty I couldn’t transpose it in my mind. Then in my 30s a left-handed person at work showed me how. I forget now. lol.

rading back through the comments, we had no power when I was a kid just 32 volr batteries recharged with a windmill. yes everything goes round...but i was thinking of the pull switch near the light shade. that would hang down. I think Mother used to sew a large button onto the bottom when new one was required.

Re: Re: Pat_B
We had a pull switch light in the dining room over the table and in one bedroom.

The love of doing something is marvelous therapy .Also better for ones health as some folk use spare time for snacking.

I love the idea of a poop emoji hat. That'd be so funny.

That's clever! The pull rings on soda cans and other canned goods can be worried loose, and used for this, too. I first heard of them being used for picture-hangers on the back of a frame.

Re: TAPS
Same technique, Taps - We had window shade pulls and in the really old days, long cords that hung from the light bulb in the center of the room before the days of on-off switches near the door...

Fun stuff. When I was just a little girl mom taught me to crochet around rings to make window shade pulls. I thought that was really neat. Haven't done that since venetian blinds became popular.
