Thank you Taps, I suppose one has to view things from  the perspective of the time.

I agree there is still too much misery caused by heartless people.

There are many people who do see joy for the taking...My dad felt the wrath of the nuns' rulers a lot during his schooling years.

the schoolboy's hands. I hope somewhere, sometime there was a curative hug, a kindness to balance the scale.

TAPS hit the nail on the head. I thought your first one was great and the second was such a difficult slice-of-life to read without feeling your pain. None of those types of hurtful behaviors would be tolerated now. I’m sorry you had to endure that.

Your War poem brought sadness to my heart....sadness for all who go through the awfulness of war, sadness for little children who go through abuse of any kind.  Your poem touched me.
