The writer and the reader are a team when it comes to the reading process...There are a few books that I've read that I like to reread by picking a random page.

You are a gifted writer, imho. Some people have better imaginations than others, or perhaps I should say that some people have difference capacities for imaginational stretches than others, in order to be PC. Good post.

I think you've got a handle on it, that your writing is not overdone,
and it's time perhaps for you to give yourself a little overdue credit. You're right, of course, that the mystical connection between writer and reader is where the story lives.
