I like how there are different recountings from different individuals. As a history major, I always enjoyed trying to get to the root of the truth. The writer's license is very nice.

Memory - like feathers floating from above - layers over itself as
a story is retold, and changes with each layer, or as told by another from their point of view. It's why your version and mine may both be "true" as remembered, and yet differ. I used to think my little sister was deliberately trying to irritate me when she argued the details about some incident or other. And then there's that "license" thing. Interesting post, Taps.
